In Game: Awayuki Household and hopefully shenanigans!

I’ve been meaning to update my sims 3 avatar for some time now, but as luck would have it, the exchange is borked again. Until that’s resolved I’ve put my new simself up for download on mediafire, along with a couple of new characters, Himeno Awayuki from Pretear, and Link from the Legend of Zelda (or as best I could manage with no cc, Himeno really didn’t need cc to get her look since the university apparel covered her school uniform quite nicely I think).

I tried a couple of different hairstyles, but liked this one the best.

This one’s closer to my real style, but not close enough. My head doesn’t look that squished at the top like that, otherwise it’d be great!

And this was Himeno, compare that to her school uniform…

All that’s missing is the headband, otherwise she seems okay (although I had to sub a shirt for her ‘sweater’, the colour scheme fit better than most other outfits.

Her everyday wear was a little bit tougher… and her PJs will definitely need work later. She’s a very colourful dresser!

Girls’s dorm – Shared by my simself (hence the clutter) and Himeno.

Actually I’ve got art clutter all over the house!

The kitchen…

And top right is link, or as best I could manage…

In Game: Spray it, don’t say it!!

What better way to test out the street art features than by setting ayour sim loose in their own home? Surely nobody’s going to complain about a mural here and there? I mean you own the place!

Something I found odd is that you can ‘tag’ a wall with a small or medium mural, but simply painting a wall mural limits you to the small size. Anyways, Turnip painted several such masterpieces wherever there was a free space on the wall.

And several spaces on the floor as well…

Here’s what it looked like with walls up…

And again with walls cutaway… she still wasn’t finished at the time I took this, there are several murals waiting to be painted upstairs as well. Including Toue and Horace’s room. I’m actually not sure who else is supposed to sleep in there aside from Toue anymore, both Horace and Nami seem to like chilling in there.

Oh and speaking of Nami…

Vani takes acupuncture very seriously

 Erm… very seriously….

We’re all dead aren’t we?

Initial University Bugs

Thus far I’ve only encountered minor bugs with the smart phones (although I’ve had some problems with interactions cancelling, though I suspect that mood may have been a factor for certain cases since it started before University). My normal file seemed okay (except for Mila not being able to text her boyfriend for some reason), the HMO sims file had problems where not all sims had been updated to the smartphone, despite social networking being an option, it still said ‘cell phone’ in their pie menu. Everybody was updated properly when I saved them to bin, demolished/replaced the lot and household, and went back to play as normal. I’ll be trying this with my other save file to see if other per-university glitches go away as well.

At first it looked like this could’ve been due to simport, but Toue’s phone got an upgrade even when Nami and Vani’s didn’t. I’m guessing it was either due to the save being created before installing the new EP, or just a fluke. Whatever it was, I hope it’s resolved now. Regular episodes and gameplay will resume as planned. Worst case scenario, same characters, different save file.

The Mascot Arrived Early!

It’s called snail mail for a reason, and unfortunately, many gamers have received their games in the mail some time after release date in the past, and will continue to in the future, which is a bummer. To remedy this (or at least spend less on printing and packaging) EA offers digital downloads, which unlock the day of the game’s release, usually midnight.

Fortunately, I was among the lucky ones who received her game almost a day early (while downloaders will have to wait until midnight. University is still greyed out in my origin client though, so no digital copy either). I haven’t had as much time as I’d have liked to mess around with the social features, build/buy and CAS before shipping my sims off (due to prior commitments). Seemingly to make up for this, when I loaded up my game, the mascot strolled up at sometime before the crack of dawn in game, proceeded to hide the welcome kit in a bush, and promptly donned a bikini before hitting the pool in their backyard.

In Game: HMO Sims at the Fall Festival

Well I was hoping to post something Seasons related before University came out, there’s still plenty of time for a recording so I’ll keep my fingers crossed. Anyways as per the last topic, someone pointed out that since Pro Bars are a big part of Late Night (the whole mixology skill) the chance of them coming back wouldn’t be so hot. Plus, alot of the store content gets around that by having ‘hidden’ skills.  I’m still holding out hope since they did bring back an entire life state, right? Also, who’s ever been to a resort without a bar?

In game today, I sent the gang to the fall festival. Festivals are a great place for performing sims like Nami, Toue and Vani to make money because they tend to attract more of a crowd than any old park. And of course, food and a washroom are (usually) close by. Today’s participants were Vani, Ben, and Beard. One of the townies took the 4th spot.

Anybody noticing a Gothic theme here?
On your marks… Get set…

Is that the repoman?

She was hungry 0___0
Me, cheering them on…
Uh oh turnip… better hang onto that bull!
Until I was struck by an inexplicable craving for pop!
But just watching them makes me puke…

I really hope she doesn’t have puke on her face… for everyone’s sake!
How can she still be hungry?
Ben appears to… regret nothing?

Ben enters the haunted house…

…and can’t handle scary things after eating (that pie filling does look like blood)

I’m hoping to do a recording soon, whether it be for livestream or a formal Youtube episode. In the meantime, stay tuned for more shenanigans!
